A young girl looks up to her father more than anyone else.
One day, however, the father molests the daughter, he tells her not to wail, weep, etc. but the girl does anyway because she's terrified. Her mother sees this, and is jealous of the attention, but does nothing to help the daughter.
The father used to mean everything to the daughter and was her hero, so she never tells anyone, despite the fact that she doesn't like it, but also because she feels ashamed of herself and confused. Eventually she stops crying and simply takes it "Silence covers shame". This goes on for some time (years).
