I can't really get a meaning out of it either. But my best guess is it that it's about a guy that is or was with a girl that didn't really care for him. And that he had been with her so long that he didn't realise he just wanted the relationship to end as indicated by the lyric "I had so much money but not enough sense to make change". Thats just my thought, probably not right but oh well haha. Good song anyway
