I think this song is about God always being there for us whenever we need Him. Whenever we screw up, we are often too ashamed to come back to His throne and ask for forgiveness; we would rather continue to hide ourself in darkness, kinda like Adam and Eve.
However, God is ALWAYS with us. We just have to call out to Him. So, instead of hiding, when we do need Him, we know exactly where to find Him and only have to call out.
