i reckon it's about this guy who's really upbeat and fun and is very sociable. but he loves this girl. and he just wants his friends to stay around so he can forget about her and carry on being the fun guy that he is. He knows that as soon as they leave, he's got no distractions, and he'll start thinking about her.
He doesn't want to think about her, cos he doesn't know what she thinks of him (hence the 'love anxiety')
