I agree with indiernr, I think it's about a relationship that is falling apart. She obviously doesn't want it to fall apart, and she's trying to get him to stay with her. She feels that it's falling apart because of her, as well. "I know I was wrong, but you know that you'll always be my love." I also see "I learned how to dance, but I'd never shown it to you" as her holding back some part of herself in the relationship, like she wasn't giving it her all. And even though she's made this mistake, they're trying to work it out but it's still between them. She thinks, or just hopes, it'll go away, but it seems like he's not sure or not willing to work it out.
That's just my spin on it..it's probably pretty shaped by personal experience, though. :)
