i think it's a pretty simple song to understand. basically i think it's about a guy who likes a girl, obviously, but they aren't dating. "i have no bags to back..." but they know they both like each other. he says he can't "leave until he knows the truth". so he doesn't just want to forget about her but for some reason he can't initiate anything. "until you seize the day and place yourself behind the steering wheel" i think it's just a song about a guy in a shitty situation that he can't seem to fix. i really like the line "It's easy to learn if you never regret; We'll never learn in the future, this is it, seemingly I am sure" he's just saying in the future he'll have regret.
