i think it's about a person who is popular/well-liked, but they gained that status by adopting a personality which is different from his own. he has forgotten who he used to be and wishes that he could once again be the person he once was. but he does not want to give up his popularity. the box is where he put his old personality and basically is all the new trends and accessories that people buy so they can seem cool. it's probably also a statement against celebrities who try too hard to appear cool but lose the sense of who they really are in doing so.
