because maybe his wife is a selfish bitch. it embraces the fact that even if it's only for a day he can forget about everything and enjoy his time with this perfect statue. it's kind of sad that he's so obsessed with this statue and believes that she'll answer all of his problems but at the same time it's "in the moment" and obviously you need to take risks sometime in your life.
oh and the fact that Beck and The White Stripes worked together on this song just makes it that much better. The White Stripes don't need any help but Beck definitely added to the Conquest EP without overpowering their talent. love it
