It sounds like nihilism to me. Maybe men just want to be silly and goofy like children and they feel completely overwhelmed by all the technology? But they like the technology and think it's cool but it's hard to keep up with it. Maybe they're stressed and they like having that nice short skirt but the girl doesn't really mean that much but they keep her around because it's comfortable to them.
