This song feels like a journey to me. It starts with a little philoposy and then ventures into Anthony and fleas lives as teenagers living in L.A.
Flea actually wrote the intro and outro to the song so this shows Flea did have a poet inside him after all since Anthony usually writes all the songs.
Anyway the song is about doing things to get that deep kick, that ecstasy they needed, when love and music could bring them that same feeling, but it isnt untill Anthony is alot older does he truely realise this.
Anyway everything in this song is real and they did it.
