I feel that the song is more of a romantic tale of a couple truly in love. They went on holiday, ‘just plain old me and you’, just as they always had been. As luck would have it, they have seven days of rain, but it doesn’t seem to matter. ‘It didn’t matter that we couldn’t eat out….it didn’t matter that we couldn’t sleep out”, and I feel like the line “seven days hearing rain inside with you” paints a picture of two people enjoying each other’s company, and the simple pleasures of life. The second aspect of the song almost says ‘these types of things happen, what are you going to do?’ The lines, “There's always time to complain about the weather / Seasons change in a day just like each other” is him saying that they need to enjoy each day together, whatever it may bring.
