The Blue Lyrics

They key to Acid Bath's lyrics is that they function as one big, long story. The lyrics from songs connect to other songs, allude to other themes.

"Across your face I see what you are You wanna kill the sun Blot out the stars" This part is referanced in the song "The beautiful Downgrade", the last song (hidden) on their second CD, Paegen Terrorism Tactics. Basically this part lays out what we are ("This is a song about you" -Dax) and how humanity is killing everything. Also, it relates to the basic human urge to destroy everything.

"I know you you're nothing You're so small You're fucking nothing Nothing at all" Basically stating that we are, in fact, insignificant in all that we do, which is the motivation for aforementiong sun-killing.

"The sun burns on It reminds me of you" No matter how hard we try, we can't destroy everything like our primal instincts command us to. The sun burns on.

"The slit wrists of the sky Bleeding into the blue" I'm not so sure on this part, but it sounds very cool.

"We twist beneath forever So you know what you've done Ants in the afterbirth Slugs under the sun" Again bringing up the ingsignificance of humanity, comparing us to ants and slugs. "We twist benieth forever" is a referance to how we, as a race, have survived for a long time and will continue.

"I could not wake the dead man dreaming .. yeah.. Acid party murder at the late show .. Oh yeah!.." This part would make sense as a referance to Dax's father, as has been stated before me, or even to Chtulu (being dead and dreaming), but to me it makes referance to, again, humanity in general. Humans being the "dead man dreaming", and unable to wake from our society-based coma. The second line about the acid parties and murders and whatnot, could be a referance to the self-destruction of humans.

"Mutate me and breed yourselves a savior I could not Kill the dead man screaming"

Again, not sure here, but the theory with Dax's father makes sense here. Perhaps the story overlaps at this point, and his father is an analogy to humanity in general.

"Eat my dead cock! oh yeah.. Eat my dead cock! oh yeah.." "Dead cock", strange as it sounds, may be a referance to the fact that we reproduce and bring life into a world where they may as well be dead because they are basically imprisoned into a society they did not create nor approve of.

"I have fallen deep in love with the sky Fragments of the sunbeam glaring on the kitchen knife" My favorite line of this song. Falling in love with the sky, longing for freedom from the world we created, and a feeling of jealousy towards the sky, because it is free, and we are not, thus explainging the first four lines.

"Leaves will fall as everything must follow Kill your idol come on jump into the void" Trying to stop our celebrity-based lifes and go into where we have never been (the void), a world where we think, live, and choose for ourselves, not based on what some spoiled, rich, douchebag does.

"Eat my cold shit!" Just funny.

"Everybody whispers where birds fall dead I smell the yellow sickness churning inside your head" Clueless on this part.

"Wiping flecks of foam twisted with rabies Bloody we run through fields of dead dasies" Again, no idea.

"How can i ever Make you know what you've done Ants in the after birth Slugs under the sun" Humanity can never understand how its imprisoned itself into society, or its insignificance.

"I have fallen in love with the sky Fragments of our sunbeam Glaring on the kitchen knife" Repeating an earlier part of this song, just worded ever so slightly different (removing "deep").

Thats what I see in this song. Then again, you might see something different. And yes, I do smoke a lot of pot.
