I think it has to do with a relationship between 2 people. It seems like he doesn't even want to be with her " suffocating in this tie". Maybe she's too demanding and needy. She told him something out of character or maybe a secret she had hidden and now he's not really into her anymore and she's just wasting her time trying to stay with him and she's shocked that he's now going away from her and moving on. That's just what I think.
