I have loved this song and shows to me the break down (but inevitable?) of a long and steady relationship. Started off so well but in the end it shatters and the truth shows itself. This really does not need citing as the evidence is so clear here...
Would have loved for the band (or ny great band for that matter) to have finished with this song and as the instruments fade away the musicians each walk off till finally the keyboardist is left there, all alone in the spotlight.
The stage goes black and that's it. No more Grandaddy :( The crowd shout for an encore and behold, thus, the bad re-emerge! They all in turn take a bow to the audience to acknowledge their thanks but somewhere, by gosh, somehow, a cream pie is thrown! NO, someone is hit on the face! A cream pie fight ensues and what turns from a tragic final ending moment now is interrupted (after long moments of carnage) by a single chord played by one person - 'You give a little love' from the final of Bugsy Malone then finishes their set and by God, was that not sadder and more memorable still?
athopewehang, hope you survided your whiskey!
