I wouldn't overinterpret this song. I think it has a good melody, with silly lyrics. The lyrics are made to match the melody, sometimes in absurd fashion: "ain't no one FOR to give you no pain" as an example.
The "for" is put in to make the song sound smoother. Grammatically, it is awful, as are the lyrics in general. I remember this song as a kid and liked the melody but when I heard the words I was very turned off. My friends and I thought it was stupid, to be honest.
The group America has other songs with dumb lyrics. For example, Ventura Highway. They seem to try make the lyrics fit into the melody with little effort to make much sense.

No one notices usually, as the song flows along and you really have to listen hard to catch how dumb some of the words are.
