I think that this is about the book. I believe that maybe Zampano was really Mr. Navidson and that the book isn't really about a real labrynth in a house but rather the labrynth inside himself. Remember, there were monster scratches on the floor next to his dead body @ the beginning. Maybe it's how other people's pain can sometimes suck you in. It says in the book that Navidson used photojournalism to busy himself to forget about his traumatic childhood. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe that's why his relationship suffered, because he never took care of the problem and then magically it became a twisted labrynth in his mind. Perhaps that's why it's best to do whatever you have to do to change yourself and get out of a bad situation before it get's too late. Maybe that's why people shouldn't repress things because in the end it comes back to haunt you?

Where do you see monster scratches? I concur with the conclusion of inner labyrinth, but I always thought it was Truant who has inner problems. He can't sleep. He sheds himself from others. Instead of focusing on Zampano so much and his disbelief of the inner growing house (internal problems), he is in denial of those problems. Zampano seemed an ordinary man, a bit detached from society but seems at peace with that conclusion. Truant is obsessed over the Files.
