i've always pictured this as him walking around the morning after a one night stand. The only reason he was with this girl is because she reminded him of the one he really wanted to be with, for instance "Your neck smells just like her's did". and now he wants to just forget about it "you stayed home, I should have done the same". The you this time being the other girl, the one he wanted to be with. if i'm not a 100% right about the song, i'm at least in the right neighborhood i think.
this song deserves a few more comments. it's a catchy, one of my favorites off the new album.
