and yes, i've heard the story is rather insane("the album that didn't want to be born"?), but hadn't heard it was derived from a ouija board. crazy. must have been a long ouija board session..
First of all let me make it clear to all who are about to read this message that since this song was inspired by the communication with an evil spirit through an ouija board, the intention of the spirit is to confuse the reader. As it is well known, demons are liars and with every lie they tell, they mix a little bit of truth into their sorcery to "legitimize" their message.

--The pain being referred to is the pain a demon feels by being "slain in the spirit." The act of God which terminates the source of joy and hope and enlightenment from their soul. When a demon first commit's the "unforgivable sin" he doesn't quite understand the impact of what he's done and he asks of the pain that has entered him "is it so permanent." Because when God removes the holy spirit from a disloyal child, it is eternal punishment.
"I gotta rid this world of your intentions"
--The demon's and their earthly subjects "the false prophets" are trying to mislead people from finding the truth of Jehovah's Kingdom and his intentions of bringing salvation to sinners through his son Jesus.
"does it make you feel alright
when I seep inside your truth
through suspicious little coughs"
--When a false prophet is calling Christ's teachings false and the person he is preaching to feels he is being lied to but accepts the lies to retain the status quo and remain a part of the general community, the one being lied to will cough suspiciously because it is a natural reflex in keeping the truth that's burning inside his heart at bay.
"as we consummate the vows of defeat
and when you pray for an end to this
I do believe this is eternity"
--Jesus sayed that those who've blasphemed the holy spirit will pray for death but it will not find them until he returns. They will be cursed as Cain was to wander the Earth, while "their madness is clear to everyone."--2 Timothy. The bible says these people will not get far.
"hold your heavy burden
in a pocket full of drink that I’ve drunk
spit the remnants in your direction
this is the closest to any kingdom
that you will come"
--The bible says that God's burden is light. So in polar opposite, those that hate the truth and worship Satan will have a heavy burden of despair, hopelessness, and anger knowing they have a short time left until the end. From the same cup of evil that the fallen angels have drank, so will their earthly human worshippers...like Judas Iscariot...who was labelled "the son of destruction." They will not enter the holy city and will fall outside of it being eaten alive by the dogs.
"I’m starting to feel a miscarriage coming on
it's numbing a stump
clearing in my throat"
--This happens when a wicked man, after just becoming evil, tries to beg forgivness from God through prayer. Because he is not remorseful, his prayer is unacceptable to Jehovah and his holy spirit is ripped from his body through the throat. It would feel as though he were choking, and loosing the most precious gift he has been given.
That's the truth behind these lyrics. Some of it is nonsensical and that's how the demon's like it. They don't want people becoming Witnesses to the Most High God!!
On a trip in Jerusalem, Rodriguez-Lopez purchased an archaic ouija-type talking board at a curio shop as a gift for Bixler-Zavala. They would return to their tour bus after shows to play with it during their 2006 tour with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as it quickly became the band's post-show ritual.[5] Dubbed "The Soothsayer", the board revealed stories, gave names and made demands, as the band was contacted by three different people who appeared in the form of one, who was then referred to as "Goliath". The more the band interacted with "The Soothsayer", otherworldly coincidences began plaguing the band's experience writing and recording The Bedlam in Goliath: Blake Fleming, their drummer at the time, quit mid-tour and left the band with financial troubles; Bixler-Zavala wound up needing surgery performed on his foot due to the shoes he had been wearing, forcing him to relearn how to walk post-surgery;[5] audio tracks sporadically disappeared from the studio's harddrives; Rodriguez-Lopez's home studio flooded and was subject to multiple power outages; and the album's original engineer went through a nervous breakdown, leaving behind all previous work with no notes as to where anything was.[6] The engineer who quit stated to Rodriguez-Lopez: "I'm not going to help you make this record. You're trying to do something very bad with this record, you're trying to make me crazy and you're trying to make people crazy."[7]
Rodriguez-Lopez was on the brink of starting the recording from scratch, but eventually kept on after recruiting Robert Carranza as a replacement engineer, along with assistance from Lars Stalfors and Isaiah Abolin. Midway through the recording sessions, Rodriguez-Lopez broke "The Soothsayer" in half and buried it in an undisclosed location as an attempt to undo the curse and halt the unforeseen tragedies. Rodriguez-Lopez swore never to give away the location of the burial, and also asked the band not to speak of it again during the remainder of the album's production.
