Hmm. I actually think this song is about Depression.
"Why don't you give me some love?
I've taken ship loads of drugs
I'm so tired of never fixing the pain"
The give me some love bit is about people cutting you a bit of slack, not putting preassure on you all the time. The drugs dont neccessarily have to be illegal or whatever, they could be prescribed anti-depressents, which then is shown in the next line about its only valium (relaxing drug) which 'helps'
The first verse about his own way is often a sign of depression aswell, believing you're different to all the others. The second verse about lonliness is obviously a sign towards it aswell.
All these things add up rather well, which is why i think it's about depression.
