Anything about love is about sacrifice. God is love, when I hear the words what is love without sacrifice I see Christ sacrificing His divine/human life as our sacrifice. Anyone who knows Christs words there is no greater love than this to lay down ones life for his friends. knows love pretty much equals sacrifice. Love isn't just emotion, yes that is part of it, but as our great teacher (Aposlle Paul) knows love is never selfish. Much of what it means in this song I think... is that constant surrender to turn and love stronger than before and to never be satisfied. We repeat yesterday when we don't learn and build on the foundation to love. Its like our salvation, there is no one time commitment but a constant surrender to God.
