That being said, from what I know for sure, this is my interpretation of this amazing song:
I believe this song to be about someone who believes that they do not matter in the world. They were numb to the world around them, and in the second verse, they try to commit suicide. They see all the horrible things in the world ("The walking dead") and they don't think living is worth it to anyone. The desolate angel is how they picture themselves in their mind.
This song leaves me speechless, this is an amazing band that deserves to be on the radio (if nothing else) for their heartfelt and stunning lyrics, more than any "Soulja Boy" ever will.
