I think this song is about getting up in the morning (obvious) and be reminded of all the terrible things that's happening all around the world ("eyewitness news brought to you at noon, oh my god guess I got up too soon"), when all you want to do is have a good time with your friends, cause they make you laugh. Even though you might have a crappy day, you don't have to bring your friends down too ("I didn't mean to wear this disguise, but I can't stand the look in my eyes, oh I didn't mean to lie, I was doing what I thought was right"). You just want to laugh it all off. Sometimes you feel like you don't have anything to be happy about, but then your friends comes around and makes you laugh and everything feels fine for a moment.. though the problems lingers.
