I was about to contradict itzed when I paused and thought for a minute, and I believe he is right on. In the Christian faith (and others, I assume) it is intensely stressed that a marriage is a triangle which includes God, who is as significant in the marriage as the other partner. Obviously the lyricist (I'm not sure about this time period, was it Fripp...?) introduces this concept rather sarcastically and critically.

I first heard this song by the band Between The Buried And Me, although I am an avid Krimso fan. It had a special significance for me at the time because a good friend of mine, who is a lso a fan of KC, and I were trapped in a sort of love triangle with this girl... I always felt like we were three of a perfect pair because any two of us (not is a perverted way) would have made a "perfect pair" and yet we were trying to cram three into that mold. Just some sentimental nostalgia.

@Unsound Heh... You said cram three into that mold... Heheheheh
