This whole song paints the perfect image of getting up in the morning for work, miserable.
I feel it's about society's view and concept on how you should live your life - work. Get up in the morning, go to work, come back late in the day. "Feeling like the day is through" is so true. I think there are people in life who can be fine with their lives being based on working like a drone. And then there are others who can't live like that, they are those who live life for the sake of their happiness (which I feel is the way to live). The key is finding the right balance between these two. I think that's what this song is about. Living your own life and not letting the sad truth that you HAVE to work in life actually ruin your life.
Most people I talk to have a real negative concept of their work life. For them it's like a weight attached to your foot every day of your life, but they bear with it and continue on that way for whatever reason. I am a firm believer that life doesn't have to be this way.
