I think one of the things that seperates MCS from a lot of these faceless pop-punk/emo acts that are cluttering the market space is that first they actually know how to write a great pop song, that is memorable and not annoying. Secondly, their influences seem to be a bit more varied. Can't exactly imagine Fall out boy covering Guided By Voices. All in all, a great cover. GBV's sound translates surprisingly well to MCS's, and in the if one wasn't familiar with the song's origins, he or she could easily be fooled into thinking it was an original.
