Zen Arcade is a pretty awesome album. This is the second of two fast paced hardcore tracks on the album and I've always loved the blistering guitar solo.
Not sure what you mean by "second of two fast paced hardcore tracks." Yes, it is the second track on the album, and the first two songs do have a fast tempo, but the real "hardcore" section of the album is the first five songs on side two (on the vinyl version). This covers "Beyond The Threshold" through "What's Going On." Compared to those, "Something I Learned Today" and "Broken Home, Broken Heart" are downright poppy.
