My theory is that Chris dispised/disliked Kelli Dayton, Sneaker pimps ex-singer, who was the singer when they released "Becoming X". Chris might have felt bad with not beeing the front-person in the band when they debuted with a real masterpeace."IAMX" would mean something like: he want to show that he's the real genius. And the lyrics for "missile" would fit in perfectly in the case where he felt scarred or just upset about her "stealing" the show.
