yeah i reckon this song is about LOTR, but it tells of Frodo's journey. he knows he has to do it, but he just doesnt want to. he knows he has one chance to achieve his goals, and the repetition of "seize the day" i take it is him making the most of every opportunity.
also there are numerous references to frodo in LOTR. e.g. the "Soon I will reach the western shore" is an indication of how at the end of the journey he leaves with gandalf, bilbo and the elves to the undying lands, "the tower knows who you are" as Tavos mentioned would be sauron in his tower in morder. etc. etc.
so that's what i reckon, but then again i could be completely wrong lol
