From what i see in the lyrics - Mitch is talking about a friend he lost to suicide. The victims life never changed no matter how much he asked God for change.. it was like a photograph because it was exactly the same everyday, (life) in a photograph.
Sorry to get all religous on your asses cuz i've seen the shit it brought up in a few other songs =P but its apparent that Mitch is blaming God for his friends loss of hope and will to live.
