I agree with GreenSleeves, it's about life, living a life that everyone else lives, with the blinders on, just seeing and doing and thinking this, and not really ever being outside it. The lights are low, as in, it's dim and hard to see in the little box you live in with everyone else, and, are you really happy in there? Maybe you like living in the box because you don't understand how much more brilliant it is out here, how much more room to think.
