The background vocals after "It's on the sheets". I believe something along the lines of "But she won't let me" is said.. But I can't be sure. I know atleast it says "But she".
But to me, it seems like it's trying to convey the message that he's been pushed to the edge of his self control. Something he loved doing, such as drugs maybe? But he was pushed to the point where he couldn't take it anymore. What would confused or even disprove this is "To play to something never there".
Regardless, I still feel it's talking about someone who was pushed farther than they could take, a choice of SOME type that was a mistake that he did again, even knowing it was wrong.
That's my comments anyways. I'm sure that someone has a much better, or even correct analisys..But I love the song. Awesome band.
