i agree with the soldiers invading iraqi civilians lives idea and also i think it has to do with some americans, even soldiers may have even forgotten why we were supposed to be over there..though im not sure anyone really knows anymore. I thought of that with the last couple lines of the first stanza. Also, i think its from the person who is being invaded's perspective and how their view of the US has changed in recent times and from recent events to "please dont invade my home" when it used to be "the land of the free and the home of the brave." Also i think the speech you hear in the background is JFK's speech after MLK jr was killed, and that works along the lines of invading others' rights/treating each other unfairly.
