My apologies Ductape, judging by your activity on this site, i imagine i have broken your Cadence ( rushing back minutes after your posts to see if there is something else you can possibly disagree with, coherently or not). onwards....the drug use i was mentioning encompassed heroin, i would have thought this apparent given Staley's publicly and well known demise as a result of it. you are correct though, you do not have to do drugs to write about them, and you also do not have to be a doctor to perform surgery. "Nothing of worth, quote that made no sense" i think you'll find my dear ductape that my quote did indeed make sense. as im sure you know, I feel the song is a "God-bash", as i mentioned in my previous post, "Bring me down you try, feel the pain and keep it all in till you die"...stay with me Ductape....."Without eyes you cannot cry" rather you agree with me or not on my interpretation, the quote i gave clearly backs up what i was saying, given the context.....in case you are still lost, God is the one bringing him down Ductape, the rest of the lyrics follow suit. another point, it seems to me that you approach all AIC songs with the presupposition that the lyrics are drug related, unless blatantly mentioned otherwise. My proof for this claim...your response to shineglass, "How bad drugs can be eg Dirt"........ there is nothing in the lyrics of the song dirt to support drug use. it is possible the concept of the song is about wanting to die when the drugs are too much, but there is no evidence presented within the song to distinguish this idea out of the boundaries of a random suicide song. sincerely,
