Nah, purportedly Dave never once tried the shit, but the entire album is still full of references to heroin (not evidenced in the title tack Dopes to Infinity which could just mean dopes as in drugs of all types). In Dopes to Infinity Dave sings "We burn that mountain down," and in Look to Your Orb for the Warning he sings "How much does one have to pay to fry a peak and melt away." It's weard how this album starts off glorifying dope and then goes into remorse over using it, like Dave's telling us a story with this...

Then we end with Vertigo which sounds like what i imagine doing dope would sound like (like dave this is the sole drug i've never even tried--this song does give me vertigo when i listen to it). All Friends and Kingdom Come appears to be a break from dope to eat some mushrooms, with the booming down/up octave riff and tremolo effect on one of the guitars. Of course, any of these songs could have multiple meanings.
Dave never slammed (shot up) dope, did he? Sounds like he's slammin something and he hates it. Maybe coke?
