Lyric discussion by murlough23

One of Jars of Clay's most cryptic and poetic songs. I believe that it's about a Christian's former transgressions being erased, and the slate essentially being wiped clean. This person's former identity was shrouded in wickedness and embarrassment, and God changed that name to joy and purity. We continually recreate the sinful self and go back to our old follies, and God continually creates the innocent, righteous self despite that. Salvation is a continuous process.
