I've never listened to a band that wrote such cripplingy depressing songs, but I've also never found another band that could help me emotionally gut myself the way that Carissa's Wierd does. The first time I heard this song, I probably wasn't paying attention to it, but the first time I LISTENED to some the words I heard the words "for the next 50 years I could still write you love songs" and I stopped everything that I was doing and sat down and started the song over. I must have listened to it half a dozen times before I finally tried to resume whatever activity I was already engaged in. This song has haunted me every day since the first time I heard it, and it never fails to bring tears to my eyes when I sit down and listen to it. It's heartbreakingly beautiful and brilliant in every way that I could hope for as a fan and can only hope to achieve as a growing songwriter. If you've listened to this song (which apparently only a few of us have) and didn't feel any kind of emotional response, you need to check your pulse, because this song is enough to make even the dead hang on every word.
