I'll burn all the lives of this angel illuminati

-Sounds like the priest wants to rid of the religion altogether.

When St. Michael sized means find an end to justify

-No clue here.

A belief to fortify this stained glass disgrace

-Saying how everyone else wants to empower the church even more, but he knows it's all a fake: "Disgrace"

Too beautiful to change or perhaps too scared

-People are scared to tear down the church because of the consequences they might face

The truth behind our lives will be erased

-Possibly saying that when you die, nothing happens (promoting atheism)

A crusader begging for a crusade in which to die

-Saying how the crusaders believe what they're doing is wrong. (Maybe referring to himself.)

Where lead locusts pierce the heart of men

-People dying from being shot.

And tie the tongues of those who lie

-During the Crusades... Saying how those who say they don't believe in God die, so they lie.

Cut the sinner, bleed redemption through the city streets

-Crusades: Killing off all the nonbelievers and sinners

That resonate in prayers of this never should be

-Prayers going to waste. God isn't real.

Someone plunged a dagger deep into God's chest and When he groaned

-Could be saying how "God" is just as human as the rest of us

it laid our entire civilization to rest

-Maybe referring to how God was the foundation of civilization, and so when people realize it isn't true, civilization starts to crumble, per sé.

When he pulled out the dagger and marveled at the pain he could create

-Man realizing the power he has

We stuck another in his back to seal creation's fate

-Possibly: We (mankind) prove our point or prove ourselves by killing?

Now we turn from wealth in the height of all our poverty A call that renders me ageless Turning he pages of a belief that's greater than us all

-Saying that he (the priest) is called to something that will take his entire life, believing in something that isn't real, but still controls people

Amen to the fools and the cossacks and the pulpits

-Mocking, self-chuckling at all the people who still support and believe in this.

Amen to the people who think there's still a way to help us

-"Help us" referring to God

This is about a prison priest, so it's possible that PTH meant a priest who was imprisoned. In that case, it's as though he was persecuted for his beliefs, and now is in jail for it.

@Aeroblitz I think sometimes you need to not look at individual lines in isolation, but the bigger picture they are saying. From the first verse I get the impression that the Priest is actually cursing the woman to be executed ... the angels have abandoned her because she is led astray (on her crusade) and that bullets will silence her heathen thoughts (or along those lines).

In a sense I believe even deeper down that it is highlighting that the angels (God/religion) has abandoned the cause of the people (or people have abandoned religion) and this i but the start of...
