to me....i think this song means to live in the moment. As for the whole "im a little boy, your a little girl".....i thought of it like this..when i was a kid, and as for all of us when we were kids, how many of you were conscience of time?? did you guys always check when your essay will be done, or when the bus is running late or early, or how long we exercise for or what time you have to wake up at so you wont be late for work. No we didnt, cuz when we were little kids....we didnt have to worry about it. We had parents to take care of all of that. Time was never a hinderance for us as kids and during those times, we lived in the moment.
