i beleive what xero77x describes about the song is true, but i don't think it's about us affairs with the middle east. It's just describing the effects of a neculear attack and how the world will end. Scientists believe that if we were to survive a global nuclear attack it would surround the world in a cloud of dust blocking out the sun, "sky is over" and subzero temperatures would cause a new ice age that will be much worse than the one that once happend on planet Earth. if this were to happen anytime soon we would not be prepaired to live in these conditions.
