I think it is about a relative passing and then feeling/being suicidal.

Being away from each other isn't going to last forever. Most would liked to believe their loved ones stay and watch over them.

Just hearing her voice in how she sings this song, the pain should translate it perfectly. Especially how haunting it is when she sings "I let it pass". Even just how the music sounds music box almost. Just sets an eerie tone for their angry/calm singing and it shows how contemplative the lyrics are.
