This song is about rape. He talks about losing control and waking the animal feelings inside. The part that really gave it away to me was,

I would have to disagree. Try a different tack: a creature with predatory instincts like a werewolf or something. I had a friend bring that up when I first though that it had to do with rough sex. Just a though to consider.
