Nobody's commented on this one yet? I'm slightly surprised as this is one of my favorites of The Kooks.
Anyway, I find take this song to be about fate. At least this line:
"‘Cause I’m always where I need to be
And I always though I would end up
with you eventually"
Wherever he is in his life, what he's doing, whoever his friends are, it's how it's supposed to be at the time being. Thus the "Always where I need to be". Nothing is ever a mistake. And because of fate, he believes he'll end up with this person, obviously, when he says "And I always though I would end up with you, eventually"
