This song is about moving on from a relationship. Notice the first verse he says it's strange that he moves and "you" doesn't. and then he doesn't know how he feels without "you." In the second verse though he says something that comes out at first as mean and sarcastic but when you take a closer look its just a train of thought. He meant to call "you" and tell "you" that he loves "you." Then he switches to the past tense and says he DID love "you." So what I get is that he's upset because he obviously still has feeling about whoever "you" is but not feelings as intense as love. And to end it with that he moves on and "you" stay asleep is just reaffirming that he in fact has moved on and is getting better.
