I don't think the song is about Iraq. I think you are just interpreting it into a way that will fit your views, which I guess most people do about most things. If it was about Iraq I think Alter Bridge would have more political songs that just this. I think it's just about making the world a better place. The band is challenging us to fix the wrongs of the world whenever we see injustice happening. The beginning of the song sounds like they're trying to say that society has turned a blind eye to everything bad that's happening and they think people should see what's really going on and fix it. You can probably take this to mean "stop the war in Iraq" if you believe the war is wrong. "Rise today and change this world." I think it's bigger than the U.S. and Iraq. It's about the world. Maybe you are forgetting that we are not the world.

If it's rise today and change this world, then why would we get out of the Middle East? Then we wouldn't be changing anything. Again, I don't think it's about politics. It's just a general "let's fix the bad things" kind of song. It's still good though.
