To me this song is describing the journey that superheroes
go through. All heroes start out as nerds or losers (spider or daredevil) but when they get their powers it doesn't just make them powerful, it changes their personality. They become more confident and this incredible feeling comes over them, making believe that not only can they do things noone else can, they can do something incredible (like saving people from harm and defeating evil) when he says, 'i need you to trust who i'm gonna be', he's saying, 'i'm gonna go do something amazing, but i need you to believe in me to make me go on and do it'. Totally amazing song, i love it.
