My initial interpretation is that it is about war, and its effects.
"Marching alone / Like a good soldier does" - (and I believe these to be the correct lyrics) indicates the loneliness associated with being a soldier in the war.
The very (impossible) concept of a boat with Sails made of Lead and an anchor which is made of Paper indicates role reversal (not that Sails are made from Paper...) and a general impossiblity - the knowledge that victory is elusive, and in no way can anybody win.
"Sinking my heart turns to stone" - This is representative of what War can do to you, physically and psychologically.
In no way is this a take off of any specific band, but as Alex Varkatzas says on their MySpace page, it is an experimental era of the band, and that by producing songs such as this, they are attempting to diversify and prove that they can be more than just screamers.
I like it - I wouldnt pick it as Atreyu if I didnt know, but I would like it if it came from another band, which is no reason to not like it because it is orchestrated by Atreyu.
Its in no way anything like Good Charlotte...
