I never thought about them both dying. That's pretty interesting...but sad. Here how I take it:
The mother was lost, didn't know where her baby was. But something (or someone) told her were to look.
She followed Heaven's tracks, but not to actually go to Heaven. More like Heaven was showing the mother the way to her baby.
On another note, I love the melodies of each situation. First, they are having fun. Then trouble. But when the baby is found, everything is alright again. Captured perfectly through the music.
