Anyway, too bad there are no real comments on this one; it's one of my favorites. Ergo, I'm adding my own thoughts.
I think it's about people who worry too much--about the million dangers in the world, about getting calculations and catagories just right, about filling every silent moment with words, and about aging. Meanwhile he or she dreams of the speaker being in danger because the speaker lives a normal, natural life. And inevitably the speaker dies while the other continues to live in fear.
Point: Why bother living if instead of enjoying it while it lasts, you fill up every moment with meaningless tasks to prolong the inevitable?
