Cover art for Energy of Death lyrics by Apostle of Hustle

I think the "energy of death" refers to the motions of the world which dictate that we all die. It is like gravity, in that it is a law/principle that is part of the world.

The best line is "You, the children of this dying earth//Our posessions and our money have no worth". The song is really about life as much as death, in that, everything is completely mysterious to us while we are still here on earth, and maybe just as mysterious after we leave it. The only thing that is for certain is that we are born and we leave everything here behind us when we die. And so nothing really matters at all. That's a green light to do nothing while we are here because everything is insignificant. That's also a green light to do everything before you die since you should be grateful you have the senses to percieve this world we live in, and to live so prosperously. What are the odds we are alive at this precise moment in this universe?
