i think it is basically that he is floored by this one girl, however it seems like she is not as interested as he, because he has to let her know that he is there and also has to ask for her to hold him, it is not a given as it would be if the feeling was 100% mutual. next, i think that this line (youre wearing your skin like it's too tight) could necessarily mean that yes maybe she is thin, or maybe that she is holding everything in too much, and you can see that it would be everything because he says skin, and skin is the thing that holds the most back.

with the (theres not one girl here that will be lead by her conscience in a world where every girl wants to be a model what's wrong babe? did daddy not give you enough attention) part, i feel like this is not directed towards her as it may be taken at first glance. i think he is saying that there isnt any other girl that has been there in the place she is in that has been lead by her conscious, just her and only her. and the attention part is focused towards those who have been that way, who have let their conscious fall and loose their morals.
and with the screaming part (take back whats mine. just leave me in it and everything that i believe in) i think it is meant that even though she is not sure with his feelings that he gave her, and she is pushing them back at him, he wants her to still have them, and he wants to keep pushing the fact and trying to believe.
okay theres my little rant about this song. i would take it for the superficial way, but we all know that their songwriting is always on a deeper level than that. anyone agree with any of this?
